The Paraguayan Registrar, Héctor Lacognata stressed at a press conference that the elected officials want to promote the energy integration in the context of UruPaBol as well as other joint projects such as the construction of a natural gas pipeline and the sale of electricity.

F ernando Lugo, Jose Mujica and Evo Morales, president of Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia respectively, signed agreements for the regional integration and for productive purposes.
Mujica met with Lugo to coordinate energy plans, especially gas and electricity ones.
Hector Lacognata, Paraguayan Foreign Minister said that the meeting between the presidents can make progresses on issues that would benefit the three countries concerned.
Lacognata noted that the agreements will benefit the construction of a pipeline that will go from Bolivia, crossing Paraguay and Argentina, to Uruguay.
The integration bloc that unites both Paraguay and Uruguay with Bolivia is called Urupabol and was created in 1963, but was never used as a mean to improve economic and social conditions of the three Latin American countries.
The Paraguayan Foreign Minister also said that the agreements signed in the Urupabol would allow progress in other areas besides energy and integrational purposes.
